Quillabamba is a coffee region about 4 hours away by car from Cusco. This coffee region is at the ‘ceja de selva’ means at the border of the jungle. I visited some coffee farms over there together with my friend Raul from Kaffee 3 Granos. Raul showed me the entire coffee process from harvesting to producing a great cup of specialty coffee.
Quillabamba is a beautiful town located in the southern part of Peru, surrounded by stunning landscapes and dense jungle. The region is known for producing some of the finest coffee beans in the country, and as a coffee lover, I was excited to explore the area and taste the local brews.
As I ventured deeper into the coffee region, I was struck by the sheer beauty of the plantations, which were filled with lush greenery and towering trees. The coffee plants themselves were a sight to behold, with bright red cherries covering the branches and the sweet aroma of fresh coffee filling the air.
But what really stood out to me was the passion and dedication of the local coffee farmers. They took great pride in their craft and were eager to share their knowledge and techniques with me. I learned about the different coffee varietals grown in the region, the best harvesting practices, and how the beans were processed and roasted to bring out their unique flavors.
Overall, my experience in Quillabamba coffee region was a truly unforgettable one. The combination of breathtaking scenery, exceptional coffee, and warm hospitality made it a destination I would recommend to any coffee lover looking for a unique and memorable experience.
