The Icatú coffee variety beans are a hybrid variety created by crossing arabica and robusta (bourbon) beans and then backcrossing with a Mundo Novo. The Icatu coffee is grown in Minas Gerais, one of the 26 states of Brazil situated in the southern part of the country and it is widely known as the capital of coffee production. This tall cultivar is known for its high productivity and shows resistance to leaf rust disease. Icatú has large-sized fruits and grows best at 800 feet and higher.
