Chiriqui Province Specialty Coffee and Farms

Chiriqui province specialty coffee

Chiriqui Province is one of my favorite places to visit in Panama. Located in the western part of the country, it offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and outdoor adventure. As someone who loves exploring new destinations, Chiriqui Province specialty coffee has always been on my radar for a while and I finally made it there.

One of the things I love about Chiriqui Province is its stunning natural landscapes. From the cloud forests of Boquete to the beaches of Las Lajas, the province is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Panama. There’s something about being surrounded by lush greenery and hearing the sound of a nearby waterfall that just puts me at ease. Plus, the abundance of wildlife, like monkeys and toucans, make it feel like you’re in a tropical paradise.

Another highlight of Chiriqui Province for me is the local culture. The indigenous Ngäbe-Buglé people call the province home, and learning about their customs and traditions is a fascinating experience. The markets in David, the province’s capital, are a great place to get a sense of the local culture and try some traditional Panamanian dishes like sancocho or arroz con pollo.

Finally, Chiriqui Province is an adventure-seeker’s paradise. From hiking up the Baru Volcano to surfing in the Pacific Ocean, there’s no shortage of outdoor activities to enjoy. I especially love going on coffee tours in Boquete, where you can learn about the region’s coffee-growing history and taste some of the best coffee in the world.

Chiriqui Province Specialty Coffee is one of the top quality coffees in this region. This farm Finca Don Vicente mainly grows Bourbon and Caturra varietals. There are are also many Geisha and Gran Colombia varietals around the farm. These are from a different age groups so the harvests time can vary.

While walking around New York City I always think about Chiriqui Province and their Specialty Coffee. I can reach for a mango and pull it right from the mango tree behind the room I was staying.

The province features a variety of climates, from hot and humid lowlands to the cool and moist highlands. The district is home to Fortuna Forest Reserve.
