Bourbon coffee varietal is the most famous of the Bourbon-descended varieties. It is a tall variety characterized by relatively low production, susceptibility to the major diseases, and excellent cup quality.

Today, in Latin America, varieties descended from Bourbon coffee. Notably including Caturra, Catuai, and Mundo Novo, have largely replaced the Bourbon coffee varietal itself. However, Bourbon coffee is still cultivated in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, and Panama at my friend’s coffee farm in Chiriqui at Finca Don Vicente.
