Main economic activity in Villahermosa’s farm is the sowing of coffee plantations and sugar cane (Panela). Since there is no access to roads coffee is brought on a mule to the main facilities. Café Caova has around 5 to 7 farms of which they make a ‘blend’. Café Caova conserves traditional Colombian customs such as manual selection of coffee beans, manual washing and sun drying.
Characteristics of this coffee its due to the coffee plantation’s altitude and the sugar café plants surrounding the coffee plants. Café Caova is 100% natural without preservatives, colorants and with no added sugars or additives. Part of Café Caova’s profits are donated for education in Villahermosa and for the support of single mothers’ victims of the armed conflict.
